What stays on your PC

Scanning, hashing, duplicate matching and deletion all run locally on your computer. Nothing about the contents, names, or locations of your files leaves your PC.

What reaches the activation service

Only these things ever leave your machine, and only to activate or manage a licence:

• A hashed machine fingerprint, used to bind a licence key to one computer.
• An optional email address, if you provide one when starting a trial or activating.
• For each deletion batch, the number of files deleted and the bytes of space reclaimed, used to enforce the trial limits.

No file names, file contents, folder paths, or scan results are ever transmitted.

No cloud scanning

Ekatva does not connect to, scan, or de-duplicate files in cloud storage or sync services such as Google Drive or OneDrive. It only reads what is already present on a local disk — including the local copy of a synced folder, which is not the same as cloud support.
