Scan. Review. Reclaim.

Three steps, and nothing hidden in between. Here's exactly what Ekatva does to your files, and exactly what it does not do.

Step 1

Scan

You point Ekatva at a drive or a folder. It reads every file and computes a SHA-256 digest for it — a fingerprint of its exact bytes. Two files only match if their digests are identical.

This is exact-match only. A rotated, re-cropped, re-compressed or re-exported photo produces a different digest and will not be paired, even if it looks identical to you. Ekatva finds true copies; it never guesses.

Step 2

Review

Files with an identical digest are grouped and shown to you before anything is touched. You choose which copy survives in each group. Nothing is removed at this stage.

Step 3

Reclaim

Before a duplicate is removed, the surviving copy is re-read and re-hashed where it landed, to confirm it's actually intact. Both files are then hashed again at the instant of deletion. Only then is the duplicate removed.

Deletion is permanent. Read this before you scan.

Ekatva deletes files immediately and permanently. It bypasses the Recycle Bin. There is no undo, no restore and no rollback, at any point after a deletion runs. The verification steps above confirm a file is a true duplicate before removal — they do not make deletion reversible afterward. Review your selections carefully in step 2.

What stays on your PC

Scanning, hashing, review and deletion all happen locally. Ekatva does not scan cloud storage or sync services such as Google Drive or OneDrive directly — it only sees what's on a local disk, including any synced folder that already happens to be there.

Try it before you trust it

The 7-day trial caps at 2 GB reclaimed and 30 deletions, whichever comes first, and never asks for a card. Run it on a folder you know well first.

Signed build not published yet — 7 days, up to 2 GB reclaimed, no card required.
