Windows · India · Ekatva 0.1.0
Before you buy a ₹10,000 hard disk, run Ekatva.
Consumer storage in India roughly doubled in price through 2026 as AI datacentre demand absorbed global drive supply. The space you already own — locked up in duplicate files — is suddenly worth real money. Ekatva finds true, byte-identical copies and reclaims it.
The arithmetic

1 TB portable HDD
Street price, September 2026.
≈ ₹950
avoided per 100 GB reclaimed
At today's drive prices, that's what 100 GB of duplicates is worth.
≈ 60 GB
reclaimed pays for a ₹499 licence
Illustrative arithmetic, not a guaranteed saving — your mileage varies with what's on your disk.
Nothing is deleted until it's proven safe.
Free duplicate finders delete on a guess. Ekatva matches files on their SHA-256 digest — an exact byte-for-byte fingerprint — and nothing else. Before anything is removed, the surviving copy is re-read and re-hashed where it landed, and both files are hashed again at the instant of deletion.
It finds true copies, never guesses. A rotated, re-cropped or re-exported photo is a different file, and Ekatva will not pair it — that's a deliberate limit, not an oversight.

- Deletion is immediate and permanent. It bypasses the Recycle Bin — there is no undo.
- Matching is exact-hash only. No similar-photo or resized-image matching.
- Everything runs on your PC. No file names, contents or paths leave it — only licence data does.
Scan. Review. Reclaim.
Scan
Point Ekatva at a drive or folder. It reads every file and computes a SHA-256 digest — the file's exact fingerprint.
Review
Only files with an identical digest are grouped as duplicates. You choose which copy survives before anything happens.
Reclaim
The surviving copy is re-read and re-hashed where it landed, then both files are hashed again at the instant of deletion — before space is freed.
Built for anyone drowning in copies.
Photographers & studios
Terabytes of RAW and MP4 copied across cards, drives and sync folders.
